CT scans are one of the most important imaging processes that are used today. You can find this type of imaging technique being used in clinics, David Topper diagnostic centers and hospitals across the globe for scanning different parts of the human body – such as the brain and the teeth. Find out how you should prepare for CT scans in order to ensure absolute success of the process.
Wear loose clothes
It is important to wear loose clothes and not tight fitting ones that can make you uncomfortable during the process. Basically, you need to be absolutely comfortable and the CT equipment should easily be able to scan the part of your anatomy that needs an imaging. Loose clothes do not hinder your movement during valley imaging and can allow you to easily sit, stand or even lie down on a table for the imaging test to be done.
Try to avoid wearing accessories
It is also a good idea to avoid wearing accessories such as sunglasses, hearing aids, ornaments etc. These can come in the way of obtaining proper images through the scanning process. Also, you might feel uncomfortable during the scan while wearing them. Your doctor might advise you to take these off and then there could be risks of these important accessories getting stolen or lost. Thus, it is better to leave them at home.
Do not overeat
Overeating during the night before the test or even in the morning can make you uncomfortable due to gas in digestion and other problems. During some scans, your doctor might advise you to have some specific type of food or even remain on fast. It is a good idea to follow his advice to the letter – in order to have the most successful and accurate test results. Keep in mind that the success of CT scans do not depend on the doctor only. You, the patient, have to do your bit as well.
